Artist CL and The Black Eyed Peas have united.
On October 26, YG Entertainment revealed, “The song ‘Dopeness’ created by CL and The Black Eyed Peas has been released today at 12:00 AM (US local time)”.
‘Dopeness’ was produced by Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas, while CL, Will.i.am, Taboo, and Apl.de.ap participated in the creation of the song. CL proved her status as a global artist by participating in the creative process herself.
The newly released song was the no. 6 track from the group’s new album, ‘Masters of the Sun’, composed with a total of 12 tracks. CL not only took the lead in major parts of the song, but also presented her solo rap. She collaborated with The Black Eyed Peas with her brilliant rap, written in English.
This was not the first collaborative work presented by CL and The Black Eyed Peas. CL participated in Will.i.am’s solo track titled ‘Getting Dumb’ back in 2013. She also performed on the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and the Summer Sonic Festival held in Japan last year with The Black Eyed Peas, continuing their cooperative relationship. As they have been presenting various synergy effects through multiple collaborative works, the two artists presented their unique chemistry this time as well.
CL has recently been receiving attention in the global music market and was selected as Apple Music’s ‘New Artist of the Week’. She also successfully completed her North America tour concert held in 9 cities this year.
